Chace Crawford was noticeably absent from last nights episode of Gossip Girl.  Could his character be becoming irrelevant to the script and direction the show is heading?

Fortunately for the fans, it’s not the case.  Chase is here for the long haul.  In a recent interview with Details, Chace revealed the longevity of his role as Nate Archibald. Heres an excerpt from the article;

Chace, whose demeanor is friendly and relaxed, says he loves his job. Good thing, since he, like all the principals, is under contract for another six seasons. “It never really gets frustrating,” he says. “Sure, sometimes you just want to have a scene where you’re drunk or having fun. I’m hoping for a fall from grace for Nate. Five years from now, I better have murdered someone!”

So unless the show tanks as a whole, Chace isn’t going anywhere.

It’ll be interesting to see what happens when these real life college aged kids graduate from high school and predictably turn down prestigious out-of-state rich kid schools to enroll at NYU or some Brooklyn Community College in order to keep the show going.

xoxo, C.
