Barker Back to Work
Nearly 2 months after suffering serious burns in a jet accident, Travis Barker tells MTV during their TRL Finale live on Sunday night that he is back in the studio playing the drums again.
“I’m already playing my drums again and I’m already back in the studio,” Barker said via satellite from LA. He also added;
“It was like riding a bike. It was really exciting to know I still have my chops. It still felt good. I still can make it around the kit. Everything felt right, so I’m thankful to be able to play.”
Barker was the drummer of former punk band Blink 182, and when their video popped up on TRL over a decade ago, it blasted them into a life of fame they had probably never imagined.
Barker was just one of the many stars on hand for the shows final episode in Times Square on Sunday night.

Shanna Moakler claims she had a bad feeling about the plane ride Travis Barker was about to take on September 19.
In an interview with US Weekly a month after the crash that left Barker in the hospital until this week, Shanna says that she was supposed to be there alongside Barker, but before he left she told him she didn’t think they should fly together anymore, in case something happened for the sake of the kids.
She then goes on to say he emailed her a picture of the plane before they got on and said how small and scary it was, she replied “be safe” though she had a bad feeling about it.
Then, when she got the call that there had been an accident, she thought it was Travis and his friends playing a joke. When the paramedic told her it was very serious, she broke down and started crying.
According to a jab at Shanna on Travis’ blog last week, she really hasn’t been there for him since right after the accident, she’s also been spotted partying it up with Gerard Butler this past week.
I kind of hate her.

Travis Barker’s ex-wife Shanna Moakler has been very vocal about how important Travis is to her since the accident happened, but according to a new blog by the former Blink 182 drummer, it seems like she may be over the entire thing.
Travis writes on his Myspace from the hospital;
“Despite any rumors you might have heard via my EX-wife Shanna Moakler, who I have not seen since the week I checked in, Ive been treated amazingly well, both here in LA and in Georgia. The hospitals Ive been treated at are THE BEST.”
Can’t say the Shanna thing surprises me, but since when are you allowed to go on Myspace in the hospital??? Oh how the times have changed.
Travis went on to write and thank all the people who have been visiting him and taking care of him, and express just how lucky he is. It’s great to see him doing better and in good spirits! He should be getting out fairly soon.

Travis Barker’s Famous Stars and Straps line has put out a t-shirt in memory of Chris Baker and Charles “Che” Still who tragically had their lives taken in a plane crash that Travis and friend DJ AM survived.
The shirt, which features a cross bearing both of their names, will be available starting October 13 on the Famous site and 100% of the proceeds will go to benefit the families of Chris and Che.
There is also a benefit being held next week to raise money for the families. More info can be found here.

Shanna Moakler is the latest nobody to be yappin about how eating meat is bad by PETA. In Shanna’s defense, she probably shot this ad campaign a little while back, but talk about a horrible time for them to run it!
In the video Shanna talks about how eating meat is bad for your health, and how she wants her kids to know that when you say no to meat, your saying no to animal cruelty.
She also uses horrible examples to teach them like holding up their puppy and saying “you wouldn’t want to eat biscuit would you?”
Well, Shana, your ex husband Travis Barker, a vegetarian for 25 years is crediting meat to speeding up his recovery from the horrible accident he was in. I think he said something like;
“I need protein from food rather than just protein supplements. I changed my diet. I would do anything I possibly could if they said like, ‘There’s a possibility you might heal faster if you do eat meat or just change your eating habits.’ So I did. I don’t regret it at all, I feel so much better.”
But you said it was unhealthy? Also, of course your kids aren’t going to want to eat your dog. Nobody in America eats dogs, they are domesticated animals. Farm animals are raised for the purpose of becoming food. Food that helps people who are hurt and in need of nutrients like protein. Plus you named your dog after a delicious piece of bread… talk about wrong.
Don’t eat it if you don’t want, but lets not get too preachy here.

Contrary to some reports, Travis Barker is still recovering in an LA hospital for burns suffered in that terrible jet crash that claimed the life of four people.
Travis has been in and out of surgeries to help repair damage done to his legs, waist, and hands when escaping the wreckage through the fire.
For the first time since, Travis has spoken out about the event. Travis told Us Magazine
“I hate planes. My biggest fear ever is to be involved in a plane crash, so when that happened … well, I’m just thankful to be alive! I’m just grateful to be here at all.”
“I am doing the best I can possibly be. I’m so anxious to get out of here. …I’ve just been in surgery after surgery. I have third degree burns basically from my feet up to my waist and both hands. One of my hands was second degree burns and one was third degree burns. I’m trying to have a quick recovery and play the drums again and be able to hold my kids again. [Barker has two children, Landon, 5, and Alabama, 2, with Shanna Moakler.] I’m going nuts not being able to see them and spend time with them!”
Also, in order to help speed up the recovery process Travis, who has been a vegetarian for nearly twenty-five years, has started eating meat. He claims;

Travis will likely be in the hospital for about two more weeks before being released, but there is a Welcome Home DJ AM benifit fundraiser to raise money for the crash victims being held on October 14th at The Avalon in Hollywood.

Travis Barker has finally been released from a Georgia Burn Unit following the severe second and third-degree burns he suffered in a fiery jet crash in South Carolina last week.
A spokesperson for the hospital told reporters; “Travis is doing great and was discharged this morning (Monday).”
DJ AM, the only other survivor in the crash that left 4 dead, was released late last week and has since returned to LA. It’s believed Travis is en route to LA now as well.
