Too Much Cat Nip for Dark Knight Star.

Aaron Eckhart was asked about the possibility of Angelina Jolie playing Catwoman in a future Batman film based upon rumors that have been going around from time to time.

At the GQ men of the year event in LA last night, Eckhart told UsWeekly; “I thought that was a fantastic idea,” adding, “When I read that, I felt like all of our records that we made [would] be broken if she did Catwoman.”

Is he serious? Angelina would be a good catwoman, but no way do they break the records of The Dark Knight that were set by Heath Ledger’s Oscar worthy portrayal of The Joker along with the tragic events that occurred leading to the release of the film.

Sorry Aaron, but no way!

No Milk for Cinemark!

Harvey Milk’s courage to become the first elected openly gay politician in America changed lives, and now your courage can help as well.

WWW.NOMILKFORCINEMARK.COM has started a campaign to boycott going to see the new Sean Penn film, Milk at any theater owned and operated by the Cinemark corporation.

As noted in the flier above, Cinemark CEO Alan Stock donated the max amount of money allowed to the Yes on 8 Campaign which passed and put a ban on gay marriage in the state of California.  Now Alan Stock is going to be showing a historic gay film at his theaters and profiting much more than $10,000 dollars from it.

But through the help of a Facebook group, NoMilkForCinemark is pointing out that if only 1,000 people go see Milk at a competitors theater, at an avarage cost of $10 dollars a ticket, that would lose Cinemark $10,000 in revenue.

Surely theres more than 1,000 people to commit to this cause.

Visit www.nomilkforcinemark.com to help them fight hate, and to find out where you can see Milk at a non cinemark theater.

Are You Ready For Twilight?

Twilight hits theaters this weekend, and I’ve got a feeling it’s going to easily take the top spot.

Even though it’s going up against the Miley Cyrus/John Travolta animated film, Bolt, I feel like I can’t go anywhere these days without someone talking about this movie, or the books, or “R-Pattz” whom I’ve never heard of before.

Anyways, it must be really good because on Ryan Seacrest’s radio program this morning, he said that people had waited overnight in Westwood, CA to be the first on the fence for the red carpet at the movies premiere on Monday night. I even saw a photo of some beat chick with a Twilight tattoo.  It looked like she got it in prison, was released, and headed straight over to the theater in Westwood.

R-Pattz will be on Ryan’s program tomorrow morning at 8am so if you want to hear what he has to say, tune in locally or visit kiisfm.com

Not got tickets for the show yet? Better hurry because I’m hearing that midnight showings are selling out by now and you might actually have to wait until *gasp* Friday morning to see the film.

Click here for showtimes and to purchase tickets.

Let me know how it is, I’d like to save my 13 bucks in case it’s not my idea of a good movie.  Maybe i’ll just go the Pete Wentz way and pick up a bootleg from Chinatown.

Quantum Leap.

November 17th, 2008 by Charley

As projected, Marc Forster’s new Bond Flick; Quantum of Solace, leaped into the weekend’s top spot beating out last weekend’s number one, Madagascar 2.

Quantum, which brought in an estimated $26 million on Friday night alone, closed the weekend off with $67 million dollars in ticket sales.

So was it as good as the sales would suggest?

First Photo of the Mad Hatter.

Someone over at ONTD got their hands on what appears to be the first photo of Jonny Depp as the Mad Hatter in Tim Burton’s rendition of Alice in Wonderland.

To me it looks like a cross between Edward Scissorhands and Willy Wonka, which were both Burton characters played by Depp, so it’s sort of fitting.

Kinda gives the movie an interesting feel without even seeing any of the other characters.

Quantum of Solace is heading for a record setting weekend in the US perhaps, as it brought in an estimated $26.6 million on Friday night alone!

Experts are saying it could easily top 60!

In other movie news, The Dark Knight is about to hit a milestone that only three other movies have done in Hollywood history, bring in $1 billion dollars!

The revenue is estimated somewhere around $997.6 million at the moment and predicted to hit the milestone within the next two weeks!

Terrible Idea. Will and Jayden Smith to Remake ‘Karate Kid.’

          0 votes
November 11th, 2008 by Charley

I know anything with Will Smith attached to it usually turns to gold so there’s no reason to be skeptical about this, but I think he’s about to potentially ruin a classic.

Jayden Simth, son of will and his co-star in the award winning Persuit of Happyness, is going to be starring in a re-make of The Karate Kid.

According to Variety, the script will loosely follow the 1984 original, the story of a boy who is frequently bullied who turns to martial arts to learn to defend himself with the help of a great coach.

My first issue with his is that the 10-year-old boy is too young.  Ralph Macchio was 23 when he filmed the first Karate Kid movie.  Sure he was playing a teen, but it’s easier to play younger than it is to play older.

Will Smith is producing the film, which will be shot in 2009 in China, so you know it’s going to be good quality and professional,  but that 1980’s San Fernando Valley setting of the original film made it what it was, you cant just replace it with China!

Maybe I’m just being a defender of my youth, but I’d hate to see something so good get ruined, like was done to the Home Alone franchise.

From Dirt to Disney.

Courtney Cox ended most episodes of her once televison show, Dirt, with a bedtime story.  She’d grab some sort of buzzing remote control from her dresser drawer and trying to turn on the television from under the covers or something before she went to bed,  now she’s starring in a Disney flick.

Cox is starring alongside Adam Sandler in the new comedy, Bedtime Stories, which centers around some kids who can decide Adam Sandler’s fate by writing their own bedtime stories.

It looks pretty weird, but from the people who brought you The Gameplan, and The Pacifire, I’m sure this movie will hold it’s own.

Check out the trailer for Bedtime Stories below.
