Taylor Swift’s sophomore album Fearless topped the pop and country charts this week selling more than 592,000 files.

Taylor beat out American Idol runner-up David Archuletta who only sold 183,000 copies.

Taylor’s record was the highest selling country album for first week sales this year!  Oh and she even sold more than those pukes the Jonas Brothers did when their cd came out!

Annnnnnd it still sucks to be Jessica Simpson!

As projected, Marc Forster’s new Bond Flick; Quantum of Solace, leaped into the weekend’s top spot beating out last weekend’s number one, Madagascar 2.

Quantum, which brought in an estimated $26 million on Friday night alone, closed the weekend off with $67 million dollars in ticket sales.

So was it as good as the sales would suggest?

Experts are saying it could easily top 60!

In other movie news, The Dark Knight is about to hit a milestone that only three other movies have done in Hollywood history, bring in $1 billion dollars!

The revenue is estimated somewhere around $997.6 million at the moment and predicted to hit the milestone within the next two weeks!

Predicting the Future.

Madagascar tore it up at the box office this weekend making $63.5 million dollars coming in way ahead of the competiton, and a movie who does that big of an opening weekend usually manages to hold on to that lead for at least two weekends, but international trends are saying otherwise.

007 Quantum of Solace comes out in the US and Canada this weekend, but the film has already been released internationally.

In just 10 days, the film has raked in $106 million internationally, and film experts are expecting that it could be up to as much as $200 million by this weekend when it’s released in the Americas.

Nothing like kickin off your U.S. release with a $200 million dollar head start.

Apparently I’m the only one with no interest in seeing this movie?

Madagascar 2 Escape 2 Africa wiped out the box office competition by bringing in an astounding $63.5 million dollars this weekend.

Coming in a distant second was the new Paul Rudd and Sean Williams Scott film, Role Models, which only brought in around $19 million.

Was this movie any good? Because I almost refuse to believe it.

After watching Zac Efron and director Kenny Ortega deliver a $42 million dollar weekend with High School Musical 3, Paramount has given the green light on Footloose to move forward so that Efron and Ortega will be ready to get to work on it this spring.

The film will be Efron’s third musical franchise, and will be aimed at an older teen audience as opposed to the child demographic that was the focus of the High School Musical series.

Efron has all but signed the mid-seven figure deal that will give him the lead role along with script approval, and they hope to start shooting  by April 2009.

High School Musical 3 soared to the top spot this weekend bringing in 42 million dollars in weekend ticket sales.

Not bad for a film that had a reported budget under 20 million.

In the second spot came Saw V, which brought in 30 million during its pre-halloween weekend release.

The Hills: According to Me.

MTV is going to make as much as they  can off of The Hills in case this is the last season.  Yesterday they premiered their new parody show, The Hills: Accoridng to Me, which I wasn’t even aware was going to be a show until flipping through the channels.

Everyone has their own opinion on The Hills, So MTV took one Hills fan, dressed him up in drag, and re-edited him into a bunch of scenes from the show to take the place of some of the main characters.

Confusing?   Check out the promo clip below.  Probably one of the most hilarious things I’ve watched.  There were no clips of the Spencer Pratt impersonation, but it was priceless!

Mark “Money” Whalberg.

Not only was he a guest star on the highest rated episode of Saturday Night Live in the past 14 years, but Mark Wahlberg’s new movie, Max Payne, opened at number one at the box office this weekend.

Payne topped the reigning leader, Beverly Hills Chihuahua bringing in $18-million-dollars.

Dare I say it’s good to be Mark Wahlberg.

On top of that, I even thought the old stick-in-the-mud was funny on SNL! Check that out below.
