McCain/Feylin on SNL. 0 votes
John McCain made his appearance on SNL last night, and appeared in an “infomercial” with Tina Fey as his running mate, Sarah Palin. Senator McCain’s wife Cindy also got in on the skit. In his second skit, he appeared with Seth Meyers on the Amy Pohler-less Weekend Update where he poked fun at his ‘maverick status.’ Check em both out below. Family Guy creator Seth McFarline is an avid supporter of Barack Obama, and no stranger to controversial content on his show, but some critics are wondering if he went too far last night. In the latest episode of Family Guy, Stewie and Brian travel back in time to Nazi Germany at the start of World War 2. After pulling the famous beat up the guard and steal their uniform routine, Stewie noticed something on his jacket, a McCain/Palin button. His remark to the button, “Huh, that’s weird.” So… How far is too far? Check out a video clip of the scene here, or below.

John McCain’s rain check appearance on David Letterman last night brought Dave his highest ratings since 2005 when Oprah waddled onto the stage. The bitches at Nielsen estimated that about 6.5 million people tuned in to see Dave rip the Republican nominee for President a new one for canceling on him for Katie Couric about a month ago. It was more civil than I would have expected, and clearly all Dave’s jokes were in good fun. Now if Dave could only get Palin to appear, he’d probably break 10 milli. “Joe” has become the celebrity in the 2008 Presidential Election, and I’m definitely not talking about Joe Biden. First there was the Joe Six-pack’s, then Senator Biden’s friend Joey from the gas station who couldn’t afford a whole tank that he brought up during the VP debate, now there’s this man, the only one that’s probably actually real, Joe the Plumber. Joe Wurzelbacher is a plumber from Toledo, Ohio, who first came about when he asked Barack Obama face to face why he wanted to keep him from living the American Dream with his tax hikes for those who make over $250,000. Doesn’t Joe Wurzelbacher know it’s patriotic to pay higher taxes?? Anyhow, Joe the Plumber came up about 30 times last night in the third debate between Barack Obama and John Mccain. Above is a picture from the Toledo Blade of Joe Wurzelbacher watching the debate. It had to be set up though, because they got the image of “Joe the Plumber” perfectly with the couch bought from craigslist, the coffee table from the neighbors trash pile, his McDonalds cup, and his Marlboro lights. If that combination doesn’t spell O-H-I-O then I don’t know what does. Anyhow, congrats to Joe Wurzelbacher, a true Joe Six-pack, and a true celebrity for the next 3 weeks. Saturday Night Live is thriving off of this years election. The show has seen a huge rise in viewership ever since the new season kicked off right in crunch time of the 2008 Presidential election. It’s mostly been Tina Fey’s version of Sarah Palin that the people are interested in, but Fred Armesian’s Barack Obama impersonation isn’t too bad either. Last night they had their first Thursday night election special, where Armesian and Daryl Hammond spoofed the second debate between John McCain and Barack Obama. The joke here was how debate host Tom Brokaw kept cutting the Senators off in order to keep things rolling with the time. Comedian and former SNL cast member Bill Murray made an appearance as a debate audience member, asking both candidates what they would do in order to ensure that the Chicago Cubs win the World Series next year. Check out the video below or view it here. Makeup! During his 2008 campaign for the Presidency, John McCain has hired makeup artist Tiffanie White to help him get his camera face on before public appearances. White, a 2002 beauty-school grad has worked on the set of both American Idol, and So You Think You Can Dance in the past. So what’s it cost the potential next president of the USA for some bronzer and to ensure theirs no fore-head shine? Around $5,583 dollars according to the Federal Election Commission. You have to look your best, especially now that everything is in HD. The first presidential debate between McCain and Obama takes place this Friday night. Barack Obama partied with some of his celebrity friends in Hollywood last night at a fund raiser hosted by Dreamworks’ Steven Speilberg and Jeffrey Katzenberg. The event, which featured a hefty $28,500 a person ticket price at Los Angeles’ Beverly Wilshire Hotel, followed by a later event featuring Streisand at $2,500 a ticket, was to help raise money for the Obama campaign. Guests to the event included Will Ferrell, Jodie Foster, Leonardo DiCaprio, Jamie Lee Curtis, and Tobey Maguire. While Obama took time off his campaign trail to raise an estimated 9-million-dollars from the Hollywood elite, his opponent, John McCain was hard at work speaking to supporters in Vienna, Ohio and blasted Obama for where he’d be spending his evening. Says McCain;
A little ass kissin’ never hurt nobody. |
