Election Fight 2008.

Election night 2008 turned into Election fight 2008 for Bill Murray as he celebrated Barack Obama becoming the first African American President in history and a new era of change in this great country, or so they say.

Murray was reportedly celebrating the big night in New York City’s Times Square in a line of many other democratic supporters, when a fight broke out and police had to be called to the scene.

According to the New York Post, a source claims that; “Bill was standing in this line of people, and then this smaller guy walked through the line very abruptly and knocked into him. Murray turned around, and the man who bumped him was not apologetic at all. He wanted to fight right there.”

When police arrived they reportedly carried off the Bill bumper and no arrests were made.

You do NOT mess with Peter Venkman in New York City!

Gays Gone Wild.

More than 3,000 protesters joined up in Hollywood last night to protest the passing of Prop 8 which puts a ban on gay marriage in the state of California.

For the most part, the protest was completely peaceful as the groups of protesters marched peacefully throughout the city but as always, there’s got to be a few bad seeds.

7 people total were arrested which makes for a pretty good night when you’re talking about 3000+ people.

Check out the video below where a couple of protesters broke from the crowd, one stood on top of the police car and another had to be restrained by the use of night sticks for resisting an officer.

As far as the vote goes, 1.6 million absentee and provisional ballots are still being counted for a race that is only separated by about 500,000 votes.

Regardless of the final count, which is due by December 2, the measure is wrong and discriminating.

Prop 8 passed, and Onch, from Paris Hilton’s my new BFF, like many other Californians gay or straight, isnt pleased!

There’s a protest being held in Los Angeles tonight and Onch posted the info to all of his friends via myspace bulletin.  Here’s the info:

Proposition 8 Protest Rally & Street Closures
Wednesday, November 5th

As deeply disappointed as we all are that California voters passed Proposition 8, we must not allow that disappointment to linger. This vote is a temporary defeat in the long march toward equal rights for all citizens in America.

Please join me for a protest rally tonight at 7 pm on San Vicente Blvd between West Hollywood Park and the Pacific Design Center (647 N. San Vicente Blvd. West Hollywood CA 90069) as we move forward towards restoring equality for all in California.

San Vicente Blvd, between Santa Monica Blvd and Melrose Avenue will be closed tonight starting at 6 pm. San Vicente south-bound traffic will be directed to make left or right at Santa Monica Blvd. Signs have already been posted to help divert traffic.

xoxo
Onch

Go out and support Onch, and the rest of the Americans being discriminated.

California Passes Prop 8

Supporters of Yes on 8 prevailed last night banning gay marriage in the state of California.

It’s sad that there is so much discrimination still going on during a time when a black man and a woman were both prepared last night to celebrate becoming President or Vice President.

The measure passed 52% to 48% outlawing same sex couples in the state of California to marry.

Measures in Arizona, Arkansas, and Florida which would have given same sex couples the right to marry on last nights ballots all failed as well.

Isn’t it time to just treat the gays like the rest of us?

Random Pete Wentz Fact of the Day.

November 4th, 2008 by Charley

Pete Wentz voted this afternoon in Beverly Hills for the democratic candidate for President, Barack Obama.

Pete had this to say about his right to vote; “I don’t usually go out of my way to indoctrinate people or tell people, ‘You should do this because of me, or you shouldn’t do this because of me,’ but I think it’s important for people to get out there,”

Pete’s pregnant wife Ashlee wasn’t out there voting with him, but he insisted she would be out voting later in the day.

With Wentz, it was never a question on who to vote for, as one of the candidates holds a special place in his heart.  I’m talking about Joe Biden.

If your not familiar with that name, due to his being overshadowed by the power of Palin, Joe is Obama’s running mate, and he’s responsible for getting Pete’s parents together.

According to Wentz; “I would not be standing here actually in reality at all because my parents met working for Biden,” he said. “They met on the campaign, so they have this particular affection for Joe. He came to their wedding. If it weren’t for Joe Biden, I would not exist as a human being.”

Here’s an image released by Pete of himself as a baby with Joe the bummer and his mom, Dale.

Maybe Pete can re-enact this photo with the Senator and his new baby, which is due any day now!

Paris is the Reason for High Voter Turnout.

Paris Hilton would like a little bit of the credit for this years high voter turn out for the Presidential election.

Forget that a black man is running and theres a woman who might be “one 72-year-old heartbeat away from becoming president.”

It’s all because she posted some videos on a sketch comedy website, duh!

Paris told E! News at an event promoting her new film Repo: The Genetic Opera; “It’s exciting to be involved in the biggest election in history,” she said. “It encourages a lot of young voters to speak their voice and to vote.”
“I was talking about issues and actually making sense but still playing with my image at the same time,” explains the heiress. “Doing it in a ditzy way, but actually saying things I think can really help it along.”

We’ll find out just how much she did when all her write-in votes are tallied up!

The Return of Faux Biden.

November 4th, 2008 by Charley

Today is a slower than usual news day, being as election day is hogging up all of the media attention and for one day of the year people aren’t concerned with where Britney Spears ran on her errands this afternoon. But it’s going to be so much fun!

Saturday Night Live’s Election Bash last night was just a taped clip compilation as we all expected, but it did feature appearances by the real John McCain and Sarah Palin, who both tried their luck with a comedy routine. (Hopefully they have a little better luck tonight)

Also on hand to introduce a few classic skits was Jason Sudeikis as Joe “The Bummer” Biden, and Amy Pohler as Hilary Clinton.

Absent from the show were Tina Fey, and Barack Obama.  Talk about a couple of sticks in the mud.

Check out a few of the skits behind he jump, and head over to nbc.com to view the rest.

The Final Countdown.

November 3rd, 2008 by Charley

Tonight is your last opportunity to read up on the candidates, learn the issues, watch the biased news media from both sides, and think about who you want running this country.

Tomorrow morning when you step in that booth it’s between you and the machine.

Don’t forget all of the local and state issues that are important to you as a resident of your own state!

StarzLife encourages everyone to VOTE tomorrow for whoever you think is best.  It’s your right to choose who runs this country,  and hopefully you have educated yourself and took a side, rather than voted for a trendy reason.

Happy voting!
