Billy Ray Cyrus removed his foot from his mouth at the CMA awards to comment on the non offer that was extended to Barack Obama’s girls to appear on Hannah Montana.
Billy Ray was quoted saying last week that Sasha and Malia Obama would be appearing on an episode of his show that would air next spring, but when reached for comment, the Obama camp never heard of any such offer.
How did Cyrus care to explain this one? He says, “Oh, to tell you the truth now, this thing got a lot bigger, a lot quicker than I ever planned.” Adding, “It’s a double-edge sword for me because first of all, I have a great deal of respect for President-elect Obama. I just mentioned about them being on the show, and it snowballed.”
Disney already put the official offer out there, but the more Billy Ray talks about this, the more they HAVE to let these girls be on the show. If not it’s like dangling it in front of them and laughing at them because they can’t have it.

I imagine if Sasha and Malia Obama heard that they were invited to appear on an episode of Hannah Montana, they’d be the happiest kids in town, but how are they supposed feel when they learn it was all a rumor?
Billy Ray Cyrus recently said in an interview with Access Hollywood that the Obama girls might be appearing on his show some time next spring. He wouldn’t give away their supposed roles, but did say the invite was out there for them.
When Miley was asked about it at a later date, she had no idea what anybody was talking about. That’s okay though, neither did Michelle Obama. According to one of her handlers speaking on behalf of the future first lady, MTV News was told; “we have received no such inquiry for the girls.”
Disney quickly responded this afternoon by releasing a statement that would extend an even better offer to the Obama girls
“We’re pleased that Malia and Sasha are fans and, as long as their parents say it’s OK, they are invited to the set of ‘Hannah Montana’ and all Disney Channel shows, for a guest role or a visit, anytime.”
Now their parents have to let them go on! Imagine how mad you would be if mean President dad told you that you weren’t allowed to be on Hannah Montana!

A panel of comedy experts debated last night whether or not it would be tough to create material about the always proper President-elect Obama.
For four years at least comedy shows will have to come up with jokes and punch lines dealing with President Obama and they admit it might not be as easy as during the past 8 years of George W. Bush.
So how will they handle it? Comedian Roseanne Barr says; “Obama is going to raise the level of intelligence (of jokes),” because of his sophisticated nature, while cartoonist Ted Rall makes a comparison to the age of John F. Kennedy.
Rall claims that the JFK presidency was a “good time for comedy,” and added; “Obama is so stuffed and uptight. Maybe he is asking for it.”
Saturday Night Live has had no trouble mocking the then senator on the campaign trail during their election sketches, so I think comedy is going to survive under the Obama term.

Last night at an Obama victory party in Century City, California, a Fox 11 reporter checked in with the studio to report two things that were in the air. Love, and weed.
After first noting that with all the love that was in the air, he wouldn’t be surprised that if 9 months from now there were a bunch of new kids running around, some of them perhaps even named, Barack, he then noted another smell that was freshening the air.
