Back to Business.
It’s like American Idol tossed season 7 winner, David Cook, into the deep end and said “swim” as they are now ready to move on to the search for the next Idol.
Simon, Randy, Paula, and Ryan stay far away from the American Idols tour, which the season 7 contestants will be participating in all summer, but the judges and host with the most will be keeping busy, by auditioning contestants for next season.
Idol will set out on their “8 city journey” starting this July to find the next David Cook or David Archuletta, going to all but one new cities, including crossing the water for the first time to visit San Juan, Puerto Rico.
Auditions will start on July 17, and continue until August 19th, giving the contestants four months to prepare for the January premiere of the hit show.

• San Francisco, CA.: July 17
• Louisville, Ky.: July 21
• Phoenix, AZ: July 25
• Salt Lake City, UT,: July 29
• San Juan, Puerto Rico: Aug. 2
• Kansas City, Mo.: Aug. 8
• Jacksonville, Fla.: Aug. 13
• East Rutherford, N.J.: Aug. 19
